Soundcraft positions the GB4 for installations such as churches and performance venues, as well as small touring sound systems. A 24-channel frame gives enough room for serious live setups: multiple vocals, choir microphones, drum microphones, keyboards, guitars, playback devices, laptops, DJ feeds, conference microphones, and media sources without squeezing everything into too few inputs.
The GB4 reference includes Soundcraft GB30 mic preamps and precision equalisation circuitry. In practical use, this matters because the mixer has to handle real microphones and instruments cleanly before the signal reaches processors, amplifiers, powered speakers, recorders, or livestream equipment. EQ should still be used carefully because too much correction can make a mix harsh, thin, muddy, or feedback-prone.
The GB4 reference includes 8 aux sends, with some auxes switchable pre/post depending on setup. Aux sends are important in churches, bands, conferences, and live events because they can feed stage monitors, in-ear monitor mixes, effects processors, or separate support feeds. Long faders give smoother control than short-throw budget mixers, especially when mixing live worship, conferences, bands, and events where small level moves matter.
